Wireless Heart of America (WHOA) is a consortium that pulls together some of the most brilliant minds in the industry, all with the same mission: to revolutionize 5G network infrastructure in the US, fostering innovation, economic growth, and improved connectivity.

The problem we’re solving.

  • The Problem

    Regional Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) face these challenges:

    Current 5G networks struggle to balance capacity and coverage, requiring more cell towers for adequate service, increasing costs for operators, and hindering the introduction of new service offerings such as Fixed Wireless Access (FWA).

    Limited commercial offerings addressing their needs and low priority support relationships from Tier 1 5G vendors shift much of the new integration costs and risk burden for O-RAN deployments to operators poorly suited to efficiently address them.

  • The Solution

    WHOA is working to solve these problems by:

    Developing a US Based Manufacturing-At-Scale plan, while maximizing the use of US components vendors for an increased supply chain resilience.

    Forming a consortium led by the operators, which will act as the living repository for all Manufacturing and Integration efforts of team WHOA. This will ensure the best reuse of funds disbursed towards commercialization, attracting both new operators and vendors by lowering overhead costs of O-RAN deployments.
